Program areas at The Equity Institute

Ta to ba - in partnership with college unbound, Equity Institute executed The ta to ba program with 45 teacher assistants and school support professionals and began working with The rhode island department of education to develop a state-recognized educator preparation program. Ta to ba helps non-certified school-based professionals and youth workers earn a bachelor's degree and become certified educators.
Re-generation - re-generation hosted six events in 2022 and engaged 243 community members. Given The global health pandemic, four of The events were held virtually. In light of precautions taken due to The global health crisis, we were able to deliver an overall enjoyable experience for our participants. 82% of participants expressed that they were able to expand their network and found The programming helpful. 89% of participants expressed that they experienced a greater sense of community.
Equity learning labs - Equity Institute developed and offered services, tools, and protocols on antiracism and culturally responsive pedagogy to districts and schools across The country. All sessions were held virtually. Due to The global health pandemic, learning labs were modified to fit The needs of each district. Equity Institute worked with 7 different organizations and facilitated 16 sessions that included a total of 1,093 participants.
