Program areas at The Dori Slosberg Foundation

Road safety programs - road safety fairs and palm beach county distracted driving programs are done in both public and private schools across Florida. We educate teenage students and their parents about The importance of concentrating on driving and refraining from engaging in extraneous activites. Additionally, we try to get as many students as possible to sign onto our zero distracted driving movement. Driving poles posted in some school zones remind us in dropoff zones about school zones are hands free. We also gave some teachers who were in charge of drop off zones bright colored vests reminding drivers that school zones are hands free.
Video distribution and school contests: distribution of "this could be you" video to students, parents, pedestrians and drivers. This video is now seen by some young drivers who must take The Florida drug and alcohol course in order to get a driver's license. This video is now seen by drivers who consent to taking an online driving course instead of paying a traffic fine. School contests: we have developed contests for younger students and contests for older students. The younger students compete by drawing a road safety drawing. The contest winner's school is presented with a check. The contest for older students is coming up with a p.s.a. About road safety or distracted driving. The winner's schools received a check for their students' success.
Road safety technology - teacher and student resource portals are designed to provide valuable tools for teen drivers and teachers. Drivers ed teachers will find free distracted driving teaching tools, lesson plans and resources needed to make an impact on teens. Teachers and students access daily for updated distracted driving resources, legislation, and safe driving tools. Portals help teachers to educate students about The dangers of impaired driving via our lesson plan that partners with a video "this could be you" follows The story of two teens in prison for killing people while driving drunk. After watching The video, students log on to dorisaveslives.org and answer thought provoking questions. When The homework is completed, students receive community service hours by joining The zero distracted driving movement which educates teens about The perils of distracted and impaired driving, while instilling safe driving habits. It is our estimation at least 100,000 students at Florida schools view this video as part of their classroom ciriculum.
