Queens County Farm Museum conducted dozens of public events and programs for The educational benefit of its audience. The events are popular, maintain public awareness and fulfill The public need to learn more about agricultural developments past and present. All events include historical, agricultural and cultural components that enhance The mission of The Museum.
Queens County Farm Museum conducts a broad range of educational programs and workshops for The general public. These activities include historical, agricultural, and cultural components. The Society provides programs for grades pre-k through high school, teacher training workshops, internships, and adult educational programs.
Queens County Farm Museum dates back to 1697. It occupies new york city's largest remaining tract of undistributed farmland and is The only working historical Farm in The city. The Farm encompasses a 47-acre parcel that is The longest continuously farmed site in new york state. The site includes historic Farm buildings, a greenhouse complex, livestock, Farm vehicles and implements, planting fields, an orchard, and an herb garden. The Society maintains The twelve-acre historic Farm site and thirty five acres of agricultural land and livestock. The Society maintains The Farm grounds and preserves The various Farm buildings and structures. Projects are ongoing, in order to preserve The historic nature of The site The working Farm site is open to The general public.queens County Farm Museum is open to The public with free admission 354 days per year. Over 500,000 visitors connect with Queens County Farm Museum and its public programs and events. Queens County Farm Museum supports one onsite farmstand plus two off site farmstands with community partners to bring fresh produce to communities in need. Queens Farm accepted multiple forms of nutrition assistance benefits such as snap/ebt benefits, wic, fmnp checks, health bucks and fresh connect. In addition to Farm fresh seasonal produce, The farmstand featured live cooking demonstrations and free recipes.
