Membership: 297 individual members in 2022, an increase of 93% over 2021, and 145% over 2020; 11 organizational members in 2022, an increase of 38% over 2021; Increased LinkedIn presence with 63 CBHL posts and increased followers from 537 to 862; Increased mailing list from 2,564 unique email addresses to 3,771; Held 13 members-only events and 12 public webinars with more than 2,500 registrations.
Partnerships: Secured and executed contract with the Danya Institute on behalf of the Central East Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) to develop a report for HHS Region 3 leaders - Equity as a Foundation for Leadership: Experiences and Recommendations for Behavioral Health Leaders; Secured a contract with the International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL) to serve as the US Liaison on behalf of SAMHSA; Partnered with the American Association of Community Psychiatry (AACP) to disseminate information about their Self-Modification for Anti-Racism Tool (SMART) and develop a training series & learning collaborative; funding pending; Joined the Coalition for Whole Health; Applied for membership in the Mental Health Liaison Group (final vote pending 7/2022); Joined APHA Mental Health Section in supporting Ron Manderscheid's APHA campaign; Joined Build Healthy Places Network as a vision sharer.
Equity-Grounded Leadership Fellow Program: Secured $290,000 from six funding partners to support development and pilot cohort; Contracted with program development, facilitation, and evaluation consultants; Created EGL webpage; Completed EGL Report with literature review, environmental scan, and collaborative development of EGL Principles of Change; Kicked off the pilot cohort with 23 fellows from five states; Convened an Advisory Committee, workgroup, and secured coaches and advisors to support the program.
Operations & Board Development: Converted contracted Director of Operations to staff CEO. Engaged a consultant to clarify how we would take action to address racism as the root cause of inequity, ground our strategies in equity, and share learnings and opportunities with members. Refined our mission, vision and guiding principles to better reflect our commitment to equity. Developed Board Principles of Cooperation and committed to developing personal connections. Completed SWOT analyses to align finance and equity priorities, and made decision to focus efforts on development of Equity Grounded Leadership Fellow Program.
