Having evolved from The new york state Chamber of commerce executives, our organization strives to elevate The prominence and image of local chambers, while providing a forum for The sharing of ideas, unique management processes and new technology. Canys' goal is to provide leadership and assistance in The following key areas:professional development thru networking and programming:the most valuable service canys can provide is to share The collective expertise and professional relationships of its members. Therefore, canys: offers multiple conferences and virtual meetings each year that focus on various aspects of economic development, legislative issues and Chamber management. Provides networking opportunities for Chamber, association and business executives coordinates and distributes The canys connection e-newsletter and a comprehensive directory of canys members assists in The collaboration and coalition building between chambers, businesses and other like organizationsadvocacy thru political action and education:through partnerships with state and national associations, canys aims to educate its members on issues of importance to The employer community throughout The state. Canys: supports an advocacy day in albany in conjunction with our annual winter symposium continues to invite administration officials, legislators and government affairs representatives to conferences to brief chambers on The most pressing issues of The day advocates for pro-business issues and/or matters that directly affect chambers and their members ability to grow and thrive.connected representation:serving as The voice of The state's more than 100 chambers, canys: represents chambers on issues such as employer regulations and improving The overall business climate in new york collaborates with national organizations such as The u.s. Chamber of commerce and The association of Chamber of commerce executives reaches out to other regional and state Chamber associations for purposes of joint programming, lobbying and The exploration of new income enhancement opportunities
