Research - 50%NAWM conducted research into many areas of environmental policy through six primary projects: 1) Enhancing State and Tribal Roles in Wetland Protection through Regulatory Program Capacity Building, 2) Strenghthening Opportunities for State Assumption of the Section 404 Dredge and Fill Program, 3) Urban Wetlands: Supporting and Sustaining a Healthy and Safe Urban Environment, 4) Wetland Training for State and Tribal Wetland Program Professionals, 5) Beaver and Wetland Restoration, and 6) Raising the Bar on Wetland Mapping Through Educational Webinars, Outreach and Advancement of Functional Assessment Methodologies.
Workshops and conferences - 25% Due to Covid-19, all NAWM workshops, meetings, and conferences in 2021 were held virtually. NAWM held its annual State/Tribal/Federal Coordination Meeting April 12 - 15, 2021. NAWM also planned, hosted, and facilitated: 1) a FWS National Wetlands Inventory workshop from May 25 - May 26, 2021; 2) a MAWWG-NEBAWWG conference for EPA Regions 1, 2 and 3 from October 12 - October 13, 2021; 3) an ESTP conference for EPA Region 7 from November 2 - Novemeber 4, 2021; and 4) a No Net Loss of Floodplain Functions Workshop for NFFA and WMC from November 30 - December 2, 2021.
Webinars & Publications - 25%NAWM planned, coordinated, hosted, recorded, edited, and posted 36 national webinars with a total of 9,517 participants (average of 264 participants per webinar). NAWM also published its monthly Wetland News Digest, weekly Insiders Edition, and quarterly newsletter, Wetland News.
