Program areas at The Albemarle County Police Foundation
The Foundation provides support and appreciation to The Albemarle County Police department officers and staff by providing routine morale support byway of meals, recognition events and similar support. Support includes funding specific requests of The department.
Provide community engagement by supporting and leading events to create public awareness of community policing activities, to educate regarding safety issues, and to recognize excellence in Police work.
To provide supplemental training and equipment and other support for The Albemarle County Police department including support of The k-9 division.
The Foundation provides a housing assistance program to support and enable employees of The Albemarle County Police department to obtain affordable housing within The community The department serves. This includes housing grants and assistance and similar support. To assist in building a professional, educated force and to aid in recruiting and retaining a corps of highly sought after officers, while providing financial support to officers and staff pursuing educational goals and post-secondary/graduate degrees.
