In february 2018, The 74 hosted a bipartisan education town hall with axios, where executive editor mike allen interviewed governors john hickenlooper, roy cooper, and jeff colyer about The state of america's schools and what's needed to raise The bar for The next generation of students. The turnout, insights and interest surpassed expectations. A breakfast event sponsored in conjunction with The town hall was promoted in numerous axios newsletters, drew a standing room-only crowd of nearly 150 dc insiders, and caught The attention of journalists across The political spectrum.

Expanded The reach and impact of The 74 through a powerful mix of editorial, video, audience development initiatives, live events, and Media opportunities.

Our work on 78207: america's most radical school integration experiment was by far The most ambitious reporting project we've undertaken to date. The 74 devoted roughly nine months to planning, reporting, filming, writing, animating and editing our series on The san antonio independent school district. Our series appeared in september 2018 and was shared widely by readers as varied as former u.s. secretary of education john king and parents in metropolitan san antonio and elsewhere, including The moderators of The parent facebook group, austin for integrated schools.
