SCHOOL INSTRUCTION: Tapestry Public Charter School is founded on a constructivist approach to education, which posits that learning happens as students actively engage in a process of meaning and knowledge construction, rather than passively receiving information. Our constructivist approach is research-based and fosters critical thinking by our motivated students. We are an unusual constructivist school because many of our students have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD). Students with ASD may be unable to process information through their senses, so our environment accommodates sensory sensitivites with lighting, sound-proofing, and reductions to other stimuli. Expenses include salaries and benefits, purchased professional services, supplies, and classroom facilities.
INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT SERVICES: Tapestry's operations include a learning center for students in need of additional academic support, guidance counselors, adminstrative staff, athletics, and business and development personnel.
FACILITIES: Tapestry Public Charter School fulfills its mission of providing an inclusion-based education by providing a school facility that fits the needs of our students, while also anticipating the annual expansion associated with adding a grade level per year. Expenses include salaries and benefits, repairs and maintenance, and utilities.
