National conferrences for people with Diabetes: since Taking contorl of Your Diabetes' inception in 1995, the organization has presented more than 194 full day conferences and health fairs in 71 cities across america, reaching more than 250,000 people. Conference registration fees are kept to 15-20% of the actual cost to put on a tcoyd event. And, in keeping with the organization's mission, financial aid is available for all in need of assistance. In 2018, tcoyd presented 9 major patient conferences in cities around the country with attendance in excess of 10,000. In addition, tcoyd held 5 mini-series events with attendance in excess of 1,250.

Continuing medical education programs:taking Control of Diabetes has taken on the challenge of educating health care professionals in addition to people living with Diabetes. In 2018, tcoyd held 15 national continuing medical education (cme) programs for over 3,000 health care professionals. These cme programs include cutting edge advancements in Diabetes management, and, most uniquely, the opportunity to bring together health care professionals and people living with Diabetes, who are immersed in their own learning environment. The goal of these programs is to improve the doctor/patient relationship and to provide health care professionals with the opportunity for a new and improved understanding of Diabetes and the challenges people living with Diabetes face on a daily basis.
