Hhap- contact with edc hhsa july 1, 2022-june 30, 2023 hhap is for the provision of transitional housing and associated Services for homeless Youth that focus on offering housing assistance, with intensive financial and independent living skills support, to transition age Youth (tay), ages 18-24, who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. Homeless Youth are defined as an unaccompanied homeless individual, age 18 through 24 years, including individuals not older than age 24 who are parents. These supportive Services shall create the potential to connect and/or stabilize participants in permanent housing through rapid rehousing (rrh), shared housing, host home and/or other safe housing options.
Tlp 3-year federal grant date oct 1, 2021-september 29, 2024 tyfs operates a transitional living program in south lake Tahoe, ca, for runaway and homeless Youth, ages 16 to under 22 years of age that are experiencing homelessness and, if applicable, their dependent child(ren). The program implements, enhances, and supports effective strategies for a successful transition to sustainable living for Youth in our community. Tyfs ensures each Youth's social and emotional well-being, creating permanent connections with caring adults, supporting education and employment advancement, and providing safe, stable, and nurturing housing environments so Youth can thrive and become successful adults.
In the 2021/2022 fiscal year, the board recruited and hired a new executive director who began service in february 2022. With covid concerns finally receding, more clients are being seen in person. Our supportive Services are implementing two new grants which expand the Services provided to homeless and at-risk Youth and young adults, including transitional housing in our south lake Tahoe community where housing is often unaffordable.
