Program areas at Support Advocacy and Resource Center
Support, Advocacy and Resource Center (sarc) provides crisis intervention, Support, medical, and legal Advocacy, on-site counseling, information and referrals to victims and others impacted by crime. Sarc also provides prevention-based education to the community. Sarc served 867 new clients through our crisis program, provided 33,135 services and made 5428 contacts with other agencies/persons on the clients' behalf during the clients' initial visit. Sarc invested 5,601 hours of services toward new clients at intake. Provided 29,664 follow up services to clients. For sexual assault, 83% of new clients were female and 17% were male. General crimes (cvsc) is a program under the crisis program umbrella. General crimes: 354 new clients were served this past year. 11,749 services were provided and 1,504 contacts made with other agencies/persons on the clients' behalf during the initial visit. General crimes invested 1,770 hours of services toward new clients at intake. 69% of new clients were female and 31% were male. Sarc offers prevention-based education services throughout benton/franklin counties. Programs are directed toward the prevention of sexual assault and to raise the awareness of sexual violence. All programs are done in an age-appropriate manner and are sensitive to the audience's needs. Through the prevention program, sarc provided 1,031 presentations, reaching 25,409 individuals. We also reached an additional 427,230 individuals through an assortment of outreach efforts that included: Resource fairs, mailings, social media & news media. Sarc's counseling program provides on-site trauma focused, evidence-based counseling therapy to people who have been affected by crime. Sarc's counseling program provided 1,239 therapy sessions to 162 people in our community who have been impacted by crime.
