Program areas at Sugar Valley Airport
Sugar valley airport services provided: promotion of general aviation ground school at no charge, hosting safety seminars for pilots. Facilities were provided at no charge to sugar valley air patrol squadron; pottery, woodworking, fine art. Volunteers provided 8258 hours of Service.
Fresh hope provided the preparation & distribution of hot meals to homeless families served by "just hope, inc", participants at "the bridge" (a program for low income & food insecure in cooleemee, nc), distribution of fresh groceries donated by various grocers & produce wholesalers to those living in trailer parks, low income neighborhoods weekly food distribution pick-up points were established at cooleemee elementary & william r davie fire department which has expanded the number of families served. Volunteer hours for fresh hope are included in the total hours for the foundation for purposeful living.
Foundation for purposeful living is a public charity committed to volunteer, grass roots efforts. Grants were made to support local black community organizations,lamiel phiri(representative for citizens of rugare), mangwende orphan care trust, cheurombo pswarayi (for medical supplies & life skills training & entrepreneurship for unmarried girls), dkf-k foundation. Davie respect initiative recognized 10 new ambassadors of respect (ages 12-21), who initiated & implemented projects that demonstrated being kind, doing good, showing respect in davie county. This program continues to gain support among county officials, school principals & teachers. Volunteers provided 4636.25 hours of Service.
