The Suder Foundation dramatically improves The graduation rates of first-generation college students and prepares each scholar for a life with self-awareness, success, and significance. Our goals are to transform lives and impact The culture of higher education to advance first-generation student success. The first scholars program, a holistic four-year student success program currently operating at a network of four-year public university partners, provides direct support and services as a living laboratory to develop, implement, and prove The effectiveness of support strategies for first-generation students. The program serves as a catalyst for creating campus-wide awareness and systemic efforts to intentionally embrace first-generation students as a key demographic in raising universities' retention and graduation rates.
