Stone Soup Corvallis

Our free hot meal program provided a complete nutritious meal all 366 days of the year to persons regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation or national origin. Meals were prepared and served by volunteers working at one of three meal sites provided by local churches St Marys Catholic Church, First Christian Church and First United Congregational Church of Christ. We prepared extra food that was delivered in bulk to be served nearly simultaneously at the Hygiene Center, co-located with the Mens Shelter in Corvallis, four days a week. Once a week, we also prepared some hearty soup to be served at the Mens Shelter during weekends. We encouraged congregate dining at our meal sites while continuing to provide packaged meals for those who preferred take-out. The use of kitchens and dining rooms at our meal sites was provided free of charge or at low cost by our host churches. We prepared 45,890 meals in 2024, averaging 125 meals
