Start Small Think Big helps small business owners from marginalized communities thrive through its mission of connecting them with a network of professionals who offer free legal, marketing and sales, financial, impact assessment, and client relationship programs. In 2021, it raised funds to pilot a Capital Fund that invests in small businesses showing growth potential but lacking access to capital. All entrepreneurs who receive funding also benefit from the organization's wraparound technical assistance.

Program areas at Start Small Think Big

To help entrepreneurs who face systemic barriers build a thriving business and access an ecosystem of resources and support.
Funds were raised in 2021 to begin a pilot Capital Fund and invest capital in small businesses who showed growth potential but lacked access to capital to support growth plans. Recipient entrepreneurs also benefit from Start Smalls wraparound technical assistance services to augment the capital injection into their business. The pilot launched in 2022 and continued in 2023. By December 31, 2023 Start Small had awarded a total of $292,500 in grants to 14 small businesses.
