Program areas at Stand Up for Pits Foundation
Spay neuter angel day is a national initiative fully funded by the sufp Foundation which spays and neuters pit bull type dogs in underserved communities. This desperately needed initiative was created in 2016 in loving memory of angel the founding soul who inspired the sufp Foundation. Since its inception this vital effort has spayed and neutered thousands of pit bull type dogs nationwide. Spaying and neutering is a real and viable solution to lowering shelter intake and kill numbers and since 85 of all dogs in us shelters are labeled pit bull type dogs we remain dedicated to growing this program and by doing so saving countless lives for years to come. In 2022 we made numerous grant disbursements to over 15 organizations.
Education 1. Saving jones is a feature length documentary film which we are making and which will be distributed and seen by the world. This film will inspire, educate, and create much needed change to help end abuse and discrimination. 2. The Stand Up for Pits national tour is also a way we educate, advocate, and raise funds. These events provide endless opportunities to discuss the cause and inherently good dogs on radio, television, podcasts, news articles, magazine, newspaper, and pop culture publications. Our message and mission have been included in the new york times to rolling stone to jimmy kimmel live. Education is as vital and needed as all the other efforts we do. 3. As part of education we fund and operate the los angeles dog fighting tip line as well. This serves millions of residents. When tips are received and deemed viable, they are sent to the humane society of the us for review and the los angeles district attorneys office.
