Stand DOWN TOGETHER Huntsville actively reaches out to homeless veterans in the community year-round and specializes in providing a safe and welcoming environment for them during a one-weekend-a-year community-based intervention event. The program offers meals, showers, clothing, and personal hygiene as well as ongoing assistance throughout the year. Due to the pandemic, the special annual stand down was not accomplished, but the organization still gave clothing, boots, cold weather gear, food, bedding, household goods, and other items to homeless veterans.
