Program areas at Spurwink Services
Spurwink provides out-of-home treatment for children and adolescents in 1) residential treatment facilities in Cumberland, Androscoggin, Kennebec and Somerset Counties serving about 60 youths per year; 2) six Special Purpose Private Schools in the 4 counties above and a Therapeutic Pre-School in York County serving 164 students per year; and 3) treatment foster homes in southern and central Maine serving about 36 children per year.
Spurwink provides residential and day programs for about 105 adults living with intellectual disabilities and autism through more than 30 homes and 2 intermediate care facilities in York, Cumberland and Androscoggin Counties, 6 community support services sites in York and Cumberland Counties, and several Shared Living homes.
Spurwink provides outpatient and community based services for individuals - children, adolescents and adults living with mental health or intellectual disabilities or suspected abuse. Those services are offered at numerous sites throughout Maine and include outpatient therapy (in public school settings, outpatient office, and primary care practices), medication management, behavioral health homes, Assertive Community Treatment, case management, Opioid Health Home, and child abuse evaluations. These programs serve approximately 7,750 individuals per year.
