Program areas at Spirit of Cleveland
The Spirit of Cleveland sponsored a study to evaluate the management and programming of downtown Cleveland's public spaces, with the goals of determining how to efficiently and effectively manage day-to-day programming, maintenance, marketing, and operations of Downtown Cleveland's core public spaces and developing a simple, transparent, and seamless process for events to be hosted in Downtown Cleveland. The study supported the community's focus on building an inclusive, thriving Downtown neighborhood for residents, building a more welcoming community, improving perceptions, and attracting talent, business, visitors, and investment.
The Spirit of Cleveland received support from Eaton Corporation and Team NEO to enhance the destination experience for college students attending the WiCys conference in March 2022. The long-term goal of the enhanced experience was to help change perceptions of Cleveland so that the event attendees will consider Cleveland as a place to live and work after graduating.
The Spirit of Cleveland served as fiscal agent for the CLE Rising initiative. In addition, employees from the Convention and Visitors Bureau (a related organization), donated time and resources serving in roles managing strategy, projects, and communications. CLE Rising was a community-wide effort to build trust and align on an inclusive vision for Greater Cleveland's economic future. In 2022, the project was sunsetted following the issuance of a capstone report.
The Spirit of Cleveland received a grant from the KeyBank Foundation in 2021 for the design and implementation of an educational series about marketing and communications for small and medium-sized hospitality businesses, with a focus on minority-owned organizations.
