Program areas at Southwest Louisiana O Gauge Model Railroad Club
Display and operation of O Gauge Model Railroad trains. All Model train exhibits were destroyed during hurricane laura in 2020. In 2022 train exhibits were reconstructed. The trains were running november 18th thru december 28th at the imperial calcasieu museum.
Promote public interest in Model railroading by providing ience and fun entertainment destination, at no charge, for children, parents and grandparents twenty four saturdays per year at the brimestone museum .
To develop greater public involvement in preservation of the history and the culture of Southwest Louisiana and the city of sulphur through support of the mission of the brimstone museum.
To increase public traffic to the brimstone museum by the construction and operation of a prototype O Gauge Model Railroad layout featuring accurate representations of historical sulphur buildings in the period 1946-1975 and the original union sulphur company and brimestone village.
To conduct charitable and educational events at the brimstone museum such as school and church field trips, the creation of an official Club website and facebook page presentation of community Railroad programs, and the production of an annual train show during the month of dec
