Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy empowers, inspires, nurtures, and helps individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities in the greater Memphis area. Program areas at Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy

In 2022, Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy served 218 unique individuals representing 23 diagnoses from 22 different municipalities in the greater memphis area. 50% of participants were male and 40% female. We provided a total of 1,978 lessons over the course of 44 weeks of lessons with an average of 32 group and private lessons each week. Southern Reins served 1 individual in mental health through memphis art Therapy, 3 individuals in corporate teambuilding, 3 in unbridled horsemanship, 3 in occupational Therapy incorporating hippotherapy, 4 in workforce learning, 20 in making strides recreation Therapy, 30 in Equine services for heroes, 31 in silver stirrups, 40 in the teach program, and 77 in adaptive horseback riding. Last year we had the support of 194 volunteers who doated 8,739 hours with a service value of $261,766.
