All ongoing activities and participation in furtherance of the mission, and initiatives to address the various challenges faced by the community's heavy reliance on federal programs and funding.- efforts to combat encroachment, to bring a greater university system of Maryland presence to the region, and to enhance facilities at smhec and other sites in st. mary's county to include r&d, incubator labs, autonomous systems and similar components.- efforts toward creating a prosperous economy independent of federal funding and attractive to new industry.- active participation with groups relevant to the mission of smna.- management of grants and contracts for analyses, reporting, and representation.
