Program areas at Southern District Institute of Transportation Engineers

Our accomplishments in 2022 included: Developed and disseminated technical information, newsletters, website, strategic planning and leadership training. Held Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky with 30 Professional Development Hours available to over 400 attendees Conducted a 2-day Leadership Training Class for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Provided financial support for two members to participate in a year-long International ITE Leadership program. Provided financial assistance for 9 members to attend the International ITE Annual Meeting in New Orleans. Provided support grants to 14 Student Chapters of the organization, held student paper competition, hosted a traffic bowl competition for students. Helped sponsor a three-day Student Leadership Summit at Virginia Tech. It included over 50 students from various southeastern U.S. universities. Continued an outreach project on distracted driving.
