Program areas at SPFB

Food Distribution: SPFB distributed 8.87 million pounds of food during the fiscal year. Through its network of 145 agencies in 20 counties, food is distributed through on-site programs, pantry programs and voucher programs. Throughout the network, 58,442 boxes of food were distributed to families, including 23,897 that were distributed through the mobile pantry program to our outlying communities. SPFB was in its second year of participating in the Commodity Supplemental Food Program and 18,836 commodity food boxes were distributed to seniors.Child Nutrition Programs: SPFB has both an after school feeding program during the school year and a summer feeding program during the summer months. Hot nutritious meals and/or snacks are served at the sites and the children are provided mentoring and nutrition education.
