SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL LIBRARY COUNCIL IS A NON-PROFIT, MULTITYPE LIBRARY CONSORTIUM WORKING TO STRENGTHEN LIBRARY SERVICES, PROGRAMS, AND RESOURCES. CONTINUING EDUCATION IS ONE OF ITS LARGEST PROGRAMS. THIS PAST YEAR, 52 EVENTS WERE HELD. THE WORKSHOPS, WEBINARS, CONFERENCES, INTEREST GROUPS, AND TRAINING SERVED 1,335 LEARNERS. ALL EVENTS WERE FREE EXCEPT ONE IN-PERSON PROGRAM THAT CHARGED MINIMALLY FOR LUNCH. THE ARCHIVED YOUTUBE VIDEOS WERE WEEDED; 14 NEW VIDEOS WERE ADDED. VIEWED SURGED TO 7,801 (207% INCREASE) DUE TO THE POPULARITY OF THE TOTAL ECLIPSE SERIES. THE COUNCIL OFFERED CAREER COUNSELING TO LIBRARY WORKERS AND RECENT LIBRARY SCHOOL GRADUATES. DIGITIZATION IS ANOTHER BIG PROGRAM. THE COUNCIL PROVIDED 13 DIGITIZATION GRANTS TO MEMBERS TO HELP BUILD THE NEW YORK HERITAGE DIGITAL COLLECTIONS AND NYS HISTORIC NEWSPAPERS. BOTH RESOURCES NOW REPRESENT ALL 14 SCRLC COUNTIES. A TOTAL OF 32,800 SCRLC ITEMS IN NYH GARNERED 426,764 PAGEVIEWS. NYSHN HAS 206 TITLES CONTRIBUTED BY SCRLC MEMBERS--1,634,794 PAGES ALTOGETHER. THE HOSPITAL LIBRARY SERVICES PROGRAM PROVIDED REGIONAL HOSPITALS WITH HEALTH/MEDICAL INFORMATION RESOURCES TO SUPPORT IMPROVED PATIENT OUTCOMES. SCRLC CONTINUED TO FUND HOTSPOTS FOR 16 TELEMEDICINE/DIGITAL EQUITY KITS AT PUBLIC LIBRARIES. SCRLC PROVIDED ELECTRONIC RESOURCES TO REGIONAL LIBRARIES AND FUNDED A BACKUP INTERLIBRARY LOAN SERVICE, WHICH HANDLED 2,254 REQUESTS FOR MEMBERS.
