Sound Generations provides food security to thousands of individuals throughout king county. We fight hunger by providing nutritious and convenient meals for older adults and adults with disabilities in need. In addition to providing reliable food security, our people connect clients to community resources and social support networks, so they may live ample and fulfilled lives. In 2022, we delivered and served over 750,000 meals to aging adults across king county.
Sound Generations provides assistance services for older adults, adults with disabilities, and the individuals that love and care for them. Assistance services can help with anything from information and resources to direct service and one-on-one assistance. We offer free to low-cost solutions for those seeking to utilize their community resources.
Our free transportation services provide rides to community meal programs, senior centers, and rides to medical appointments. Additionally, neighborhood vans are provided for errands such as grocery shopping, banking, or visiting friends. We understand the impact that access to affordable transportation options has for older adults or persons with limited mobility. We enable individuals to maintain their independence and quality of life. In 2022, we provided 8,029 safe rides to medical appointments and 47,242 one-way trips to support meal deliver and food access.
In addition to the three programs listed above, Sound Generations also provide health & wellness services and clinics and has senior centers where members and visitors access our food insecurity, health & wellness and assistance services.
