Program areas at Social Justice Partners Los Angeles
SJPLA's Racial Equity in Homelessness Initiative adopts a three-pronged strategy to transform the homeless response system's culture and workforce by recruiting a diverse talent pool, supporting leaders who center racial justice, and retaining top talent through creating liberatory workplace culture. This includes a Racial Equity Fellowship for mid-level leaders, training for C-Suite leaders to integrate racial justice into their organizational culture, and providing stipends and wellbeing supports to workers in the homeless response sector.
SJPLAs Systems Change Fellowship supports early-stage, justice-centered systems change initiatives with seed funding, peer learning opportunities, and coaching. Leaders with lived expertise receive support in organizational planning, communications, and growing their organizations community of support. The Fast Pitch segment of the fellowship, provides intensive training and coaching, culminating in a virtual showcase event.
SJPLAs Community Building & Engagement engages Partners and the broader community to develop their knowledge and skills in social justice and anti-racism. We host discussions and trainings to facilitate learning from peers and nonprofit leaders. Activities and community events cultivate cross-sector connections, fostering community-level change and amplifying impact. Additionally, SJPLA's philanthropic consulting services help craft equitable grantmaking practices, ensuring a broad and sustained impact across the community.
