General program - The Snake River Alliance serves as Idaho's nuclear watchdog and clean energy champion by inspiring, educating, and advocating for and with our fellow idahoans. We envision an Idaho where our people and our environment are free from The threat of nuclear waste and contamination, and our communities are healthy, strong, and prosperous because of our reliance on clean and renewable energy.
The clean energy program dedicated 2022 to working with our clean energy partners to achieve a swift and equitable transition to a renewable energy future for all idahoans. This included advocating for fair net-metering rates, commissioning a study analyzing Idaho power's "value of distributed energy resources" (voder) study, and climate change advocacy.
The nuclear program dedicated 2022 to educating The public that nuclear energy is dirty, dangerous, expensive, and inequitable because it forces future generations to address The impossible task of storing radioactive waste for tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of years into The future. Nuclear power plants have no place in Idaho's safe, clean, sustainable future.
