Program areas at Side by Side Studio
Our Preschool Programs provide academic enrichment to preschool agedstudents. This program is rooted in child led learning and coordinates lessons and activities that observe and assess the social-emotional learning of vulnerable youth.
We provide mobile artmaking opportunities to the community via our Art Bus. This mobile artmaking bus operates as an open studio on wheels, equipped with tools and seats for 10 to 15 people. This program increases artmaking opportunities for youth because of our mobility. This is beneficial to our participants because it brings art to any space at any location and therefore decreases the barrier of accessibility. We provide bi-weekly family artmaking opportunities to the community via our Open Studio days. This is a community resource that encourages positive family bonding opportunities through artmaking. This program advocates for discriminatory free artmaking with its drop in policy welcoming families from all walks of life.
Invitation To Create program combines education with art making. The objective of this program is a catalyst of inspiration for advocating positive self-coping and self-identification through the process of art making. Our workshops use a step-by-step strategy that allows the child to lead themselves in the artmaking process following the exchange of artist profile information. Our objective is to provide art based programs and activities that are trauma informed and rooted in child led learning.
Our new Intro to Auto Repair program, in partnership with Momentum Motorsports, provides the youth and young adults ages 14-23 with another opportunity to receive hands on and creative learning opportunities. This program is offered at no cost , further decreasing barriers to diverselearning opportunities. Program goals incluse preparing an individual for an entry-level automotive position or technical college, providing mentorship, and the opportunity to attend pop-up automotive hiring events. This program is expected to grow tremendously in 2023.
