Program areas at Sheridan County Sportsmens Association

We operate the facility to provide the use of shooting ranges to members and to non-members for a nominal day pass fee. 2022 membership was 1,195. Scsa's general use ranges are open to members and day pass holders from dawn to dusk, 365 days per year. The ranges include: range 1 (rifle) - targets from 50 to 350 yards. Steel plates and target boards. 25-yard (pistol and rifle) - target boards and polymer reactive targets (swingers). Range a (pistol) - 10 yards. Target boards and polymer reactive targets (swingers). Range b (pistol) - 7 yards. Target boards and polymer reactive targets (swingers). "range c (pistol) - 15 yards (50 feet). Target boards and polymer reactive targets (swingers). Scsa's indoor range provides a climate-controlled environment for pistol and 22lr rifle shooting. The indoor range is available to members and day pass holders when a range safety officer is present. Check the calendar for open hours. The indoor range hosts scsa's winter bullseye league, as well as 4-h youth shooting sports. Scsa's long range is open to members, day pass holders and competitors when a range safety officer is present. Scheduled operating hours and competitions are shown on the calendar. The long range includes - steel targets from 380 to 732 yards - 100-yard sight-in target board - bench and prone shooting positions - 22 long rifle and high-power centerfire rifle competitions scsa's muzzleloader range is set up with 25-50-100 & 200 yd ranges. Open to all muzzle loaders - inline or traditional, loaded with black powder or black powder substitute. We have monthly matches the last sunday of each month. Starting at 9 am in the summer and 10 am in the winter. Check the calendar for any changes. This is a controlled range thus an scsa range safety officer must be present to open the range plus the access is weather sensitive. Scsa's outdoor pistol pit complex includes three ranges, all of which are available to members and day pass holders when a range safety officer is present. Rifle shooting is limited per the pistol pit complex sops. The pistol pit complex hosts a summer steel challenge league and uspsa competitions, as well as regular shooting activities during the dry season. Check the calendar for events and activities. Pistol pit a - 60 yards. A variety of steel targets, including falling steel plates for 22lr and center fire pistols. Pistol pit b - 50 yards. Pistol pit c - 15 yards the scsa trap range includes twelve trap houses and fields, and hosts open shooting every sunday from 11:00 am to 1:00pm (check the calendar to confirm). Fees are 5.00/round for members and 6.00/round for non-members. Scsa hosts registered trap shoots throughout the year in addition to hosting a summer league. Check the calendar for a schedule of these events. Scsa's skeet ranges are open every sunday and tuesday starting at 8 am to usually 12 pm. An scsa range safety officer must be present. Shooters are encouraged to arrive at the range in time to complete their desired shooting activities prior to closing time. Members & nonmembers are encouraged to participate. Fees are 5.00/round for members and 6.00/round for nonmembers the new 5 stand shooting activity is part of the skeet range activities and falls within the same time frames and range safety officer directions. This is a very friendly atmosphere with the emphasis on having fun and socializing. Experienced shooters are willing to help and encourage new shooters and participants.
