Shenandoah Valley Medical System, inc (svms), dba Shenandoah Community Health (sch), is a federally qualified Health center providing outpatient and inpatient Health care services with the goal of promoting Health and wellness by providing a Medical home to improve access and reduce barriers to care. Sixty-eight clinicians represent disciplines of ob/gyn, nurse midwifery, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, oral Health, psychiatry, psychotherapy, and pharmacy. Svms provides Health care services to more than 28,000 residents from wv counties of berkeley, jefferson, and morgan, and of frederick, clarke, warren, and Shenandoah counties of Virginia. Migrant/seasonal farmworkers from rockingham and Shenandoah counties of Virginia and Washington county, md receive services in addition to m/sfw patients from the other counties listed above. In the current year, svms provided care for 30,077 patients, 8.4% of whom were uninsured, and 45.5% with medicaid coverage. Of those patients who reported their income, 49% fell at/below 100% of federal poverty level, and 69% were at/below 200% of federal poverty level.
