Program areas at Shelter Animals Count
Sheltered Animals Count (SAC) has continued to accomplish its mission of data collection and presentation for various animal welfare organizations. In 2022, the following types of organizations were impacted by SAC through The National Database, providing valuable information on animal shelter and other data: 4,088 private rescues, 1,148 private shelters, 780 government entities, 580 contract shelters, 57 contract rescues, and 58 non-sheltering service providers. Of the total 6,711 organizations, 4,088 were rescues (61%), 2,565 were shelters (38%), and 58 were non-sheltering service providers (1%). Members who submitted 12 consecutive months of data at the end of 2022 totaled 1,481.
