To complement the programs, initiatives and goals of federal, state and local government agencies and instrumentalities, to lessen governmental burdens, to promote, sponsor, facilitate, and provide for, directly or indirectly, the residential care of medically fragile, technology dependent children. For the last 20 years, the mission of Second Family, Inc. (the largest provider of community residential care to medically fragile children in the state of md), has been and continues to be enabling medically fragile, technology dependent children to be cared for in the community in lieu of long-term institutions. Second Family, Inc. Provides the children the ability to live, be educated, play, and be integrated in the community thus lessening the financial burden on federal, state, and local governments.
