Program areas at Seattle Amistad School
Pre-Kindergarten and School Age Education: Quality, bilingual education is the foundation of Seattle Amistad School. During the 2019-2020 school year Seattle Amistad School had 190 students in Pre-K through 5th grade at two campuses in Seattle (in the Central District & Greenwood neighborhoods). These students receive rigorous bilingual and bicultural education. They are immersed in the Spanish language, with teachers following a 90:10 model of two way immersion. They participate in the Artist in Residence program, which brings in local Latin American artists to teach students Latin American art and culture, and the Capoiera program (Brazilian martial arts), in addition to their regularly scheduled classroom programs.
Before & After Care and Camps: Seattle Amistad School provides childcare for families both before & after school, and during school breaks. This allows working parents the option of having year-round childcare. In the 2019-2020 year, Seattle Amistad provided care for 165 students through the Camp and Before & After School programs. Children also had opportunities to join extra-curricular clubs through the Before & After School program.
Nido - Toddler Care: Seattle Amistad School's Greenwood location provided care to 37 toddlers in the 2019-2020 school year. These children are immersed in the Spanish language while receiving high-quality childcare.
