Scottsdale Museum of the West increases and diffuses knowledge, encourages appreciation of art and history, maintains a museum to exhibit, collect and preserve objects of artistic and historic interest, and provides facilities for research and publication. In 2021, they showcased western spirits newest exhibitions including light and legacy: the art and techniques of Edward S. Curtis; beaded gauntlets from the William P. Healey collection; the art of our photography with Arizona Highways Magazine. The museum also produced a bi.

Program areas at Scottsdale Museum of the West

In 2022 western spirit`s opened new exhibitions which included : women of the West: highlights from the fran and ed elliott southwest women artists collection; kids in focus: a new lens on life; gem art: masterworks by nicolai medvedev; the gather: a portrait of the american West -scott t baxter; reel or reality? Storied histories of films indigenous cultures and cowboysthe Museum also hosted numerous authors and artists in programs throughout the year that tied in with our mission and exhibitions and these attracted many new visitors. Our school programs educated more than 900 public, private and home school children to the history of the West and its impact on the growth of our country. We continued our outreach to retirement communities and other local groups and provided more than 370 private tours to these many organizations and other individuals interested in the Museum. Our major fundraising event saddle up iii including raising money sufficient for us to hire an individual focused on education outreach and programs.
