Program areas at Attn Adam Kirk
Children in grades 1 through 12 participated in 3 choirs into which they are placed based on age, maturity, experience, and skill level. Discover Choir (k-2), preparatory Choir (3-5), and premier Choir (6-12). These choirs rehearsed at least weekly throughout the school year (covid permitten)under experienced choral professionals, with more frequency around performances. The choirs also enjoyed 2 weekend retreats. Children performed works by renowned composers. The cyc/scc hosted the chatham county all-city choral festival in may 2022 with over 400 singes in grade 4-12 from 11 different schools. The Choir sang with the first baptist church of Savannah sanctuary Choir, several senior living facilities, and the downtown neighborhood associations holiday tour of homes. Students from the preparatory and premier choirs sang solo performances at the gulfstream military appreciation luncheon and verterans day ceremonies. The cyc/scc choral foundations program supported 8 sccpss school choirs weekly with assistance from the artistic director.
