Santa Fe Farmers Market Institute

To promote regional small farm and ranch operations through the following activities: 1) maintain a long-term venue for the Santa Fe Farmers Market in order for Farmers to engage in direct Market sales; 2)promote the use of snap/ebt at the Market and double snap transactions. Over 375,425 in snap and doubling in 2021, a 157% increase over 2019 due to increased food insecurity resulting from the pandemic; 3)distribute microloans to vendors to provide access to capital to help expand farm capacity. Approximately 40,000 in loans made in 2021; 4)offer scholarships to conferences and free workshops/trainings to Farmers to assist in the improvement of their on farm and farm business activities; 5)provide a gathering place for community and nonprofit events through the rental of the pavilion on non- Market days.
