Sponsored d.a.r.e. (drug abuse resistance education) program put on by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's department to local elementary schools. Hundreds of fifth and sixth graders participated and a record number of students graduated from the program.
Financed equipment to assist the sheriff department's forensic unit. All equipment helps the lab technicians handle evidence more quickly and efficiently.
Sponsored the project deputy dog program to purchase and train k-9's for the Sheriff's department. They will join the k-9 unit and assist in bomb detection, tracking, and protection.
