Program areas at TSFF
The San Francisco Foundation, through The generosity of donors and corporate partners, past and present, funds approximately 3,300 nonprofit organizations in The San Francisco bay area and throughout The country each year in response to ever-changing demographics and needs of our communities. As a funder and civic leader, The Foundation's challenge is to ensure that everyone in The bay area can thrive and reach their full potential. The Foundation wants to ensure that everyone has a good job, lives in a safe and affordable home, has a strong political voice, and can live in a community that provides real access to opportunity. At The center of this mission is The need to advance greater racial and economic inclusion throughout The region. To reach this goal, The Foundation focuses on three interrelated pathways: 1) people: expanding access to opportunity by removing systemic barriers, 2) place: anchoring communities of belonging so that all residents can live, work, thrive, and create and 3) power: nurturing equity movements to ensure a strong political voice for all. The Foundation supports equity-focused efforts through grants, civic leadership, advocacy and program-related investments.
