YouthBuild is a pre-apprenticeship program that provides job training in construction or medical and educational opportunities to complete high school for at-risk youth ages 16-24 who have previously dropped out of high school. The participants receive industry recognized credentials and paid a biweekly stipend while enrolled in the program. In 2020, YB served in 30 students, either virtually or face to face, Monday through Friday for a period of 6 to 8 months. The objective is for each student to complete high school, receive a pre-apprentice certification in Construction NCCER or HBI, or complete the Certified Nursing Assistant program and pass the state board exam. While attending school and training, the students are paid a stipend to assist them financially while completing the program. The students are then assisted to find employment and their case manager will follow them for an additional year.
