Program areas at St Paul Rotary Foundation

The second century scholarship fund was created in 2010 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of formation of the tenth Rotary club in the world in St. Paul, mn. Club members and friends provided funds to create a $465,000 fund to change the life of one St. Paul high school student every year with a $20,000, four year college scholarship. Students are recommended by their respective high school and must apply through scholarship america, the leading scholarship management firm in the united states. Scholarship america evaluates all applicants and selects the winner based on established criteria. Applicants must: be a current senior at a St. Paul high school, have participated in camp ryla (Rotary youth leadership awards), plan to enroll full-time in an accredited postsecondary college or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming acedemic year, and have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent). Scholarships totaling $20,000 were provided to 5 students during the year.
The Saint Paul Rotary Foundation grants funds to the Saint Paul Rotary club in support of its work and support of local, regional and international community programs. Some of those programs are described below:camp ryla (Rotary youth leadership awards) this fun, intensive experience develops leadership through teambuilding, problem-solving scenarios, and a feed my starving children service project within a weekend camp experience for 80 high school students.rotary youth exchange - exposure to different cultures ranks as one of the most powerful ways to promote international understanding and peace. The Saint Paul Rotary club provided support for one or more international students with the opportunity to meet people from Saint Paul and to experience Minnesota culture, planting the seeds for a lifetime of international understanding. World community service: the Saint Paul Rotary club makes grants to fund international humanitarian projects approved by the Rotary international Foundation.
