Program areas at Safe Black Space

Provided virtual community healing circles to approximately 300 people of African ancestry. Attendees learn about signs and symptoms of racial stress and trauma and strategies for engaging in self and community care.
Expanded our mind body spirit resource list and provided informal connections for support. People who visited our website were able to access our online list of resources. Those who reached out to SBS via email or phone were contacted.
Provided book study group focused on African-centered psychology for approximately 95 attendees with esteemed author. Participants read a book together over a number of months where they learned, discussed and applied the principles.
Kwanzaa Kutoa Celebration honored seven Black families who live in the Sacramento area in need of support.
