Sacramento Valley Conservancy preserves, protects, acquires, and enhances land in its natural, scenic, historical, agricultural, forested, and open space condition in the Greater Sacramento Valley California area. In 2021 alone, the Conservancy closed on two acquisition projects and permanently protected an additional 670 acres in Sacramento County by acquiring title on 160 acres and conservation easements on 510 acres. The Conservancy continues its mission to safeguard the region's natural resources for future generations.

Program areas at Sacramento Valley Conservancy

In 2022 the Conservancy successfully recorded the bear river preserve, a 618-acre preserve in yuba and sutter counties and amended the alder creek conservation easement in Sacramento county to add 3.5 acres of habitat for Valley elderberry longhorn beetle. The Conservancy secured $250,000 for a 3-year grant from the department of conservation to support planning through the sustainable land conservation program as well as a $3.5 m grant for access improvements for camp pollock through the lower american river parkway public access improvements projects. In addition, the Conservancy continued its maintenance and stewardship of the various conservation easements and properties it holds in perpetuity.
