"hugs around your neck" book sales - a children's book was written by applewood staff in memory of one of Ruth Mott's former employees. The book is scientifically accurate and touches on the themes of science, including butterflies and flowers, and diversity and inclusion. The main purpose of the book is to be used as a programming tool for years to come. It is also being sold to the general public.
"applewood - the charles stewart Mott estate, one hundred years of stories, 1916-2016"- the book recounts stories of the Mott family and their lives at applewood. After c.s. 's passing his widow, Ruth, wanted to share his story and began a restoration process with intentions of eventually opening applewood to the public. The book provides access and insights that you cannot find in public records. In mr. Mott's own words you will read of the keen interest he took in every detail of the landscaping and gardens. The book shares the stories of the people who lived there, worked there, or simply visited and celebrates the unique and largely private past of applewood. It presents photos and details of furnishings, artwork and the landscape that surrounds it. The book is being sold to the general public.
"the life of charles stewart mott"-the book reflects the life of Mott whose name today is most widely recognizable when used in connection with the word Foundation. But philanthropy is only one reason the life of Mott - entrepreneur, industrialist, banker, mayor, and sometimes even cowboy is worth knowing about today. Mott was born ten years after the death of abraham lincoln and one year before the 1876 centennial of the founding of the united states. He not only lived through the most dramatic technological shift and period of economic growth that had yet been known, but he actively participated in and contributed to these events as a major innovator and leader at general motors, as a public official, and as a philanthropist. This vivid biography portrays a complex, brilliant, often contradictory, and ultimately fascinating man. The book is being sold to the general public.
