Rubicon Theatre Company

The organization presents a mainstage season of classic and contemporary dramas and comedies, including world premieres, for the entertainment and enrichment of the community.The organization also presents a Broadway Concert Series and concerts from other genres in order to offer local audiences increased opportunities for music appreciation.By January of 2022, Rubicon resumed mainstage programming after the pandemic hiatus. The company presented four mainstage subscription productions ("The Gine Game", "Twilight Los Angeles 1992", "Lonesome Traveler: Generations", & "Almost Maine, and helped develop the streaming production, "1600 Vine."

The organization offers education and outreach programs to students ages 6 to 22, adults and seniors. Programs typically include weekend and after-school classes, student matinees, workshops, and summer intensives in Shakespeare, musical theatre and drama.During 2021-2022, due to Covid-19, these programs were offered outside on the campus of Villanova prep school rather than at the theatre. These programs were also filmed and edited and shown at the downtown movie theatre for those who could not attend the outdoor evening performances.
