Ronald Mcdonald House Charities of Central Pa

The Ronald Mcdonald House in hershey is a home away from home environment for families who need to be together and near the care and resources they need to support their sick or injured child(ren). In 2022, we provided 892 families 7,383 overnight stays, 3,164 meals and overall because of our services, saved our families a total of $2,384,709. The average stay of our guest families was 8 nights with the longest guest stay was 284 nights. Total number of Pa counties served was 49. Longest distance traveled by any of our guest families was from ehningen, germany.

The Ronald Mcdonald family room provided 2,146 visits to families whose baby(ies) was being treated in the nicu (neonatal intensive care unit) at penn state children's hospital. A cozy home like feel provides a calming interlude for parents and caregivers. The space has a comforting seating/eating area, tv and computer access, food storage and prep area and a play space for siblings and younger guests.the hospitality cart program served 4,095 families/ patients/guests by providing an opportunity for respite while only being steps away from their child's bedside. Some of the items offered included: snacks, small activities, books and other items.
