Rolling Hills' mission is to provide vocational and activity services to carroll county residents with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to provide the opportunity for growth and development of vocational skills through remunerative employment as well as increased functioning in the areas of independent living and functional academic, social, and recreational skills. Program areas at Rolling Hills Progress Center

The core program involves two areas of training. The regular work program is designed to enable the individual to participate in long term employment in the sheltered workshop setting at Rolling Hills. The program uses real work on real jobs to provide a genuine working environment. The opportunity for growth and development in a variety of skill areas is also provided to the individual. The developmental training program is designed to provide a comprehensive training program which focuses on the needs and interests of the participant. Individual program goals are established in the areas of: functional academics, independent living, community skills, recreation, and social skills. Additionally, the participant engages in vocational activities which provide meaningful work with a paid income.rolling Hills Progress Center pays some of its client workers through a grant assistance program. The workers are admitted or hired through the Rolling Hills program and they must have a vocational handicap which limits or prevents activity. No minimum level of skill is required for admission into the program. Client workers are taken into account whether or not they will benefit from the services offered by Rolling Hills Progress Center. Rolling Hills Progress Center employs 61 clients and total compensation given to these clients totaled $255,742 for the current year.
