Youth (junior) Rowing program is offered to kids in grades 6 to 12 during the school year and summer. Aproximately 100 students participate during the year. In addition, there are approximately 70 students who travel from all over the country to participate in a three week long camp with Rogue Rowing coaches. They learn Rowing technique, teamwork, water safety, the discipline required to develop fitness and to be a competitive rower. They learn how to handle equipment and how to follow instructions. They learn how to develop and carry out a race strategy, how to prepare mentally and how to take care of their bodies with good nutrition, effective training with attention to intensity and recovery.
Learn-to-row clinics introduce community members to Rowing. 100s of individuals are provided the chance to try Rowing no matter their background or ability. These opportunities range from one-day clinics to lessons that run for the entire year. In addition, the club provides learn to row opportunities for an adapative program.
