Program areas at Rockford Area Arts Council
Artsplace at Washington park community center: through a partnership with rps205 and the Rockford park district, and with funding from the american relief plan, the Arts Council facilitates year-round Arts enrichment for youth, ages 6-16; program staff expose the youth to a variety of engaging art mediums and provide mentorship/apprentace opportunities.
Artscene: the Arts Council facilitates a biannual gallery walk for regional visual artists; over 10,000 people visit Rockford's city center, and surrounding areas, to tour galleries, work spaces, and business hosting visual artists and musical performances.
Spark summer programs: youth, ages 6-18, work in groups supervised and guided by professional artists; youth create original works in mosaic, muralism, digital Arts, creative writing, and dance/movement Arts.
